Passport photo problem......

Post by flintknapper »

Last weekend some family members (and a friend) made the trip from Austin and Houston to our little neck of the woods to take their CHL course.

All went well, we had a great time visiting....and I had an opportunity to see LT as well. :thumbs2:

My younger brother lives not far from the DPS headquarters in Austin....so he elected to hand deliver the packets...rather than go to the trouble of mailing them.

A person at the DPS was kind enough to open each packet and review them. As a result of that...it was deemed that the passport photos of all 5 packets were too "light". I saw all of the photos before they were signed and put in the packets...and they appeared to be the same as any other I have submitted.

The person at the DPS said they would not "scan" properly...and that they needed new (and darker) photos.

Anyone heard of this being a problem? From what I saw....they were pretty much normal photos.

Flint.

There was a post not to long ago about photos being 'too dark'. I sometimes think that DPS-CHL objections such as photos and fingerprints :rules: may come up to thin out or otherwise lighten the application load.

You reckon?

I don't know. The person said they could "lighten" dark photos but not "darken" light photos.

I have no idea what kind of equipment they have...but I can do both easily on cheap photographic software I have. Seems it would save everyone involved alot of trouble.

If they would just move the CHL part of the DPS to East Texas, I would happily head it up.

I promise you....we WILL get things straightened out in short order! I would find a way to get things done, and not find ways NOT to do get things done. ;-) Thats East Texas for: We will work hard, we will work smart, and we won't go home until the job is done! Old School! :thumbs2:

My business partner's pics were too dark and he had to get them taken over. Kinda stinks because you have to track down the officer to sign them again. :banghead:
