Chinese Steel Core Ammo?

Post by pbwalker »

I picked up a 550 round can of Chinese Steel Core Ammo 7.62x39 for, what I hope is, a good price ($150) but don't know much about the ammo itself. I've read a few articles online about it and it appears as though some people think this is AP ammo (which, again from what I read, it is not). Apparently, importation is banned? Any first hand reviews from forum members?

I cannot give a first hand review, nor am I able to comment on whether the ammo is in fact banned or not....but you might want to read this link:

http://www.thegunzone.com/762x39.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't know how current that is, but suspect it is several years old. But that's an assumption on my part.

Here is another, more current comment that mentions federal regulations by the first commenter:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 731AAyrokO" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hope that helps. Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer

haha...yep. 550 rounds on stripper clips. Once I opened it, it stunk of some kind of chemicals or solvents. I wonder if that's Chinese air in there...if so, no wonder many wear masks over there! "rlol"

It would definitely be Chinese air. And yes, by our standards, it would stink.

I wouldn't say the air stinks there in China, as the pollution in the air is equivalent to Los Angeles standards. Love that sunset!
