Wildlife Preserve

Post by Zero_G »

I go to Brazos Bend State Park on a regular basis. Just inside the gate there's a wooden sign:

Wildlife Preserve
No Firearms, No Hunting

As a state park, Brazos Bend should be legal for carry. Does the 'wildlife preserve' status change that or is this just another inappropriate sign?

IMHO (IANAL, etc.), the sign has no effect on CHL holders. PC 46.03 and 46.035 are pretty specific (except for the school issue).

As it is legal to carry a long gun almost anywhere in Texas, the sign is required to exclude people carrying long guns.
