I thought I was the only one that had it framed and hanging on my wall next to my JMB Shrine? :rolll "rlol"

Lol... it's good though.

But you know that the Glockaholics are just as bad on their side of the fence as we 1911ers are on ours
Oh I know that well. The truth is we are all guilty once find our perfect gun, we can't understand why everyone else can't see it the same way.

I bought a new Kimber last June, 08. Two or three rounds every magazine the gun would not go back into battery using factory ball of different brands.
I sent the gun back to Kimber, they polished the chamber and the gun works fine now. Kimber forget to do little things like that these days and times.
Its called poor quality control.
It cost me $80.00 to ship the gun back to Kimber.
I should have called kimber and ask for a shipping slip.

Yes, thank you. . . .
There was nothing accusatory or critical implied to the OP in my post. If you think there was, chalk it up to your personal interpretation.

I was attempting to be concise. Since that failed, let me rephrase:
Since you (Aggie_engr) are the only person on this Forum who has seen this Kimber--firsthand, up-close, and personal--can you comment about your own observations? Did this pistol look, to you, to be so pristine that it had left Kimber Quality Control only one week before your brother purchased it, or did it look as if someone had shot it, altered it, or abused it?

Here's a close-up:

Look at the grip at the forward edge of the safety. That's not an effect rendered by the camera. That's a grip panel that has seen wear from many hundreds of repeated manipulations of that safety.

I believe you. Sorry Skippr if I seemed snippy. I just couldn't see it. But let me ask... How can the safety lever be in contact with the left grip panel? None of my 1911s do that, including my Kimber. In your closeups, it looks as though the wear to the grip panel is caused by the safety lever.

Looks like excessively close fitting between the safety lever and the top of the grip panel. If you look at the pictures shown on the Kimber America website, you can see this to be the case. If you shoot with a firm grip and squeeze down on the safety lever as you fire, it probably wouldn't take many rounds at all to ding the grip panel. I don't know if the ambi-safety adds any slop in the linkage, but my (uneducated) guess is that it would.
