husband back in the hospital - UPDATE

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

husband back in the hospital - UPDATE

Post by quidni »

Steve was released to return to work this week, but Wed. morning he started to feel the onset of the same symptoms that happened right before his stroke. His boss called me, & his co-workers took him directly to the ER. Blood pressure was brought back under control quickly, but they decided to admit him & keep him overnight for observation.

This morning, the cardiologist ordered a cardiac catheterization to check the condition of his heart & arteries and I thank God he did. The test showed 3 arteries of the heart had an over 80% blockage. They were able to clear them out and put stents in place immediately. Potential heart attack forestalled for now.

So we're back in ICU for the time being, and it's debatable as to whether Steve will get to go home tomorrow or Saturday. I'm not holding my breath either way - I want him to stay here until the docs are comfortable that he's at a point where he'll do better at home.

Please continue to pray for Steve, including a prayer of thanks for the "episode" yesterday morning that landed him at the hospital again. Without that, we might not have found out about the blockage before it became 100% critical.

Carla

UPDATE 26 JUNE 2009 21:10
The cardiologist and internist agreed that Steve could return home this afternoon. Dosage on a couple meds has been tweaked, and a couple new meds added to help protect his heart.

Steve is exhausted but looking so much better, and relieved to be home. If no further complications manifest over the next few days, he has a followup with the family doc in 1 week and with the cardiologist within 2 weeks.

And this time, he's staying HOME for a full week. No pushing the doc to let him return to work in "a day or two."

May God bless the staff at Sierra Providence East.

And may God bless all of you for your prayers. Thank you!

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Thank the Lord, God works in mysterious ways but the out come is always for His Glory, to them that love Him. I pray for Steve, that the peace of God will fill his heart with hope and joy. I pray for a speedy recovery and Lord, make him hold again. Father we thank you for your healing and love that is beyond our comprehension...In Jesus' Name: AMEN

Thank you today for training the Drs. Thank you for healing after they do do the repairs.

Great news Carla. Will continue prayers for a full recovery and back to his old self! Just make sure he follows Doc's orders to help prevent things from going back in the future. :thumbs2:

You know it! :iagree: I've already told him it's "we" not "he" dealing with this. We're a team... have been since 1980. Whatever it takes.
