Some fun range photos - brass in the air.

Post by NcongruNt »

A couple of months ago, I took a new shooter to the range, and brought along my Nikon D90 to take some photos. Hoping to get some brass in the air with some of the shots, I cranked the ISO up and got it shooting at 1/4000 second. Below are a few of the cool shots I got.

This first one is of my new shooter, shooting my Browning Hi-Power in 9mm.

Next is my my new shooter shooting the Walther P22. I made a detail of the brass because the glint from the sun onto her arm was so cool.

I had not planned on shooting, giving her the entire time to learn and enjoy the time at the range. Halfway through the session, though, she insisted I have some fun, too. I gave her the camera and she climbed up on the berm 90 degrees to my right and shot photos from there.

This one, I'm doing multiple target rapid-fire running and gunning with the Hi-Power. I blew up the detail, and you can see that there's 2 pieces of brass in the air (one by the slide, the other below my forearms), and the next round is in the process of chambering, visible through the ejection port.

Nice pics and always nice to hear a new shooter joining the ranks.

Very cool pics. A D90 is on my Christmas wish list. Even the close up pics are crystal clear.
