Federal nyclad

Post by ghostrider »

I see that Federal has re-introduced their 38Spl nyclad load:

They are out of stock, but Midway does list it on their website:

no problem.

What I'd really like to see is nyclad bullets sold for reloading, but I doubt that'll happen.

I see that thru 2/28, Midway has the .38 Nyclads on sale for $9.99/20.

I ordered 12 boxes so I can finally retire and shoot the vintage Nyclads in my .38s.

Wonder if they'll have 9mm nyclads.

I still have a box or two of those and keep one .38 nyclad in "the mix" in my bathroom revolver.\ which has 5 different types of ammo in it.

Not yet.

So these are basically hollow points without the copper jacket?

They are a soft lead bullet coated with nylon to reduce leading.

They have a reputation for effectiveness beyond what the numbers would indicate while offering modest recoil in .38 snubbies.

Darn - yesterday I went on Midway website to order 5 boxes or so and the site indicated they were out and that it was a special run (or something like that). I hope they will have more available in the future. That ammo sounds pretty good for my little 642. Well - that's what I get for waiting.

I'm glad I was able to get a case of 158gr LSWHP +P for $6 a box years ago (50rd box).

Back in the day they were were considered the best. Critical defense is thought to be better now.
