CHL application problem

Post by scprotector1 »

So i go online to check the status of my application for a CHL, and i get this:Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent. Does this mean ive been denied or do i have to spend 140 bucks again? this is bull! I made sure everything was filled out and double checked what gives? Anybody know anything that could help me out?

You don't have to spend the 140 again, this letter comes when there is an error in your application, or you have a record of some kind that they need the disposition from, or they can't read your fingerprints, etc. Just get the info corrected and resend it to DPS

I'm having to redo fingerprints :grumble but my status online still says processing application. Oversight? I would think mine should say incomplete as well. They did send a letter with explanation so you should have a pretty good idea of what went wrong. The fingerprints thing is fairly common; I wished I had known the first time - I'd have done the electronic printing.

Another $10 and missed time at work and further delay in the process; hopefully this time it will stick.

Rather than just throw it in the outgoing mail box, take it to the post office and tell the person behind the counter that you want to send it "certified mail, return receipt requested". I believe it'll cost between $1 and $2 extra (over normal first-class postage).

hey guys thanks for all your help heres an update, i sent the necessary info back to them through USPS priority mail, got confirmation they recieved it yesterday at 7:00 in the morning i go to check the app status just right now and it still says "Application incomplete-a detailed letter has been sent." Should i give them a call or do these people just take their sweet time? Oh and one more question does this mean im gonna get licensed and they just needed some missing info? In other words i passed the background check right?

Just like waiting for your pin it they lose it in the stack then have to find it while blindfolded and on fire before they update

IMO, you should give it a few days to get processed and updated. And nothing's guaranteed until you see "application complete, license active" notice.

My best guess, and that's all it is, they probably have not done the background check until they got the complete info. How would they check something that was not complete? At best they could have worked on the background check while trying to get the incomplete info, but I doubt it.

I also left some information off both fingerprint cards :banghead: So I am right there with feeling stupid.

It took about a week before I saw "Processing Application" after sending the information back in. I'm still waiting for the "Application Complete..." status.

Oh, BTW, it was 60 days when I was notified of the missing information, I am now at about 30 days after sending back the missing information (90 total). I didn't send the FP cards back return receipt so I have no exact day they received it. I'm guessing another 30 days to wait since my clock was reset back to 0. :grumble
