Where can I try guns, Friendswood/Clear Lake side of Houston

Post by smasraum »

I want to get a gun and my CHL. (I think a meeting with Tom E at Texas City is in my near future) I met a buddy on the West side of town last Sat at George Bush park and shot his guns, 1911 .45acp, Browning Hi-Power 9mm, .22 of some sort, P3AT .380, and a really old Colt semi-auto (made in 1909) in something small like 9mm or .38 (I can't remember exactly). That was all great, but other than that, the only handgun that I've ever fired was a .454 Casull of some sort (YOWZA :eek6 ).

I'd like to fire a Sig or two (especially a P250) and Glock or two. Before I buy something. The Glocks are so pervasive these days. I remember holding a buddies years ago (1993-4) and thinking that it felt like a toy. I kind of like the heft and feel of the Browning, but it seems like a lot of guns are composite these days.

Anyway, I've read that some ranges will let you rent guns. Does anyone know what ranges in Houston will rent and have a decent selection? I live in Friendswood.

Thanks in advance for the info

Welcome. Tom has all the guns you may ever want to try out. Contact him and ask for a session with him, he accomodated my wife and I and brought enough guns to try to arm a small country. :fire

Outstanding. That sounds like the way to go, get acquainted with the instructor before the class. Thanks

:iagree: He taught me and the good lady wife to shoot and taught the CHL class we took. Great guy, very friendly and knowledable. You will have a great time.
