LaserLyte Classic Universal Laser $79.95

Post by Abraham »

Well, it's certainly low cost, (for a laser sighting system) but, I have reservations about this design and frankly I'm not certain as to their quality.

The laser housing for the LaserLyte Classic Universal Laser model is rather pencil shaped and fits on the front of the trigger guard (kinda like a bayonet) and then projects straight out in front, which looks like a recipe for it being easily damaged. Plus, a bit of it actually fits inside the trigger guard.

For twenty bucks more you can get their QUICK DETACHABLE UNIVERSAL model that fits on the picatinny rail. This one seems to be a much better design, but the attraction for the pencil/style/trigger guard is it looks like it will fit all my holsters. I'm not so sure about the other design...?

I see lasers costing much more on the market and of course wonder if they're overpriced or if LaserLyte lasers are so much less in cost because their significantly lower in quality?

Anyone here have knowledge about them?

Thanks!

maybe a fun range toy, or a BB gun novelty, but I certainly would NOT put one of those on any SD weapon. Just my opinion.

I agree. I don't know where I saw a review....perhaps on THR, but the manner in which you affix the laser sight to the front trigger guard is not secure, and if you happen to bump it, it throws it off, which isn't a good thing. Plus, if I remember correctly(don't hold me to this), the battery life is not the best.

With what little I know about laser sighting devices, it's definitely a compromise devise. But take what I say with a grain of salt.
