Big Town Mall Gun Show

Post by stroo »

I went to the Big Town Mall Gun Show in Mesquite today. Last time I went to a gun show in March, there was very little ammo or reloading supplies for sale. Today there was ammo all over the place. Still a little high priced but coming down. I also found small rifle, large rifle and large pistol primers. Again the prices were high but down from the last gun show. And there was plenty of powder and bullets for sale. Prices on guns still seemed a little high but much more within reason. Seems like the shortages are going away.

Glad to hear that stroo. I too believe prices are moderating, and will continue to slide as the fad and panic buying period lessens.

I checked the .380 ammo prices on Auction Arms.com and Gun Broker.com and the guys offering this ammo aren't getting the frantic bids like they were last spring, either. Some of the items were were coming to the wire with out any bids on it. I'm glad I only bought a 100 or so rounds as I am seeing more of all calibers at retailers locally.

i really see a difference lately .
i have seen ammo more and more on the shelves ,
even later at night when usually whatever was there in the morning gets snatched up as soon as it gets put out.

At guns shows in both Denton and Dallas a few months ago, they had similar ammo at similar prices. One guy had a box of it marked $129. But it was not going anywhere except back in the guys vehicle because no one was willing to pay the reeeeedickulus price. At the last couple of gun shows .380 FMJ was around $35 per box. And, yes, some of the major retailers are beginning to have some now that is "going" (fast) for about 1/2 of that.

I think that unlike gold it won't hold its price. You should sale NOW and replace it later at 1/2 the price. :thumbs2:

At Big Town, the cheapest price I saw for 380 was $21 for 50 rounds of reloads. Cheapest I saw for new 380 ammo was $25 a box of 50 for Buffalo Bore. One guy had some WWB 100rds for $65.00
