Stolen Firearms!!!!!

Post by dwdog »

I am now on day 130(ish) waiting on my CHL, but that's not what my concern is right now, I left town for a funeral. Came home, my bathroom window busted out, front door unlocked, gun safe and 5 firearms gone!!!!! One 12 guage, one AR-15(.223), one 243, one .38 special, and one .40cal. I had all the serial numbers in my wallet, so I was able to give those to the police. I believe someone has been watching me, knew I had guns, and knew I was leaving town. I know it was more than one person, because my safe was very heavy. Those suckers had better be caught. Although, I am sure I will never see those guns again. If I do, I don't know if I would want a gun back that was used in a robbery or a murder. Chances are, my AR-15 is probably headed to Mexico. Now I don't feel safe in my own home, which I first thought was a good neighborhood. I am mad about my guns being stolen, but what bothers me the most, is that I am a husband and father, and some strangers forced their way into my home. Now, I just want justice to be served. Any information, please contact Texas City PD. Thank you.

We feel for you, in fact I hate thieves more than anything aside from sexual predators. I will say this: there is one thief on base at Fort Hood that holds a special place in my hate, but that is another topic, and gun thieves sit right behind that one.

Very sorry to learn of your loss. Stealing such while gone to a funeral is the lowest of low. :mad5

Glad to hear though you had serial numbers for the cops. The odds of recovery are quite slim, but, FWIW, we got hit repeatedly a few years ago. A local 20 year old had been casing the place and got several hunter ed. long guns. Eventually caught the sleezeball. We got all but one of the guns back - most of them butchered. The worse news is, after having him on over a dozen felonies (burglarizing a Baptist church, credit card theft, etc.), he got plea bargain deal for just 10 months ...

Sorry to hear this.I know what you mean though. We had a break in
last year. It's not a good feeling knowing someone was in your home.

Man I feel your pain. I was broken into in 1980. Stereo and gun stolen. The stuff can be replaced BUT it took a year to get over the invasion. Looking in every room every time I came home. I did install an automatic lighting system that I use to this day.

The good news is you will get past this. (in time) :coolgleamA:

I know how you feel. Our house was broken into more than 5 years ago. We lost several thousand in property and damage. Mostly the kids games and videos and my guns. Never got back the mini-14 or Beretta 92. Of all the property I only got back a Taurus 85. I sold it soon afterward.

Was your safe not bolted down to the floor?

I was getting around to that one of these days. Obviously stupidity shows I should have done it a long time ago.

If you're a member of the NRA, I believe they will cover up to $1,000 for theft of your firearms.
