Not clear on Issuance required for License...

Post by FN57 »

Type of Issuance: "Original or Attorney not prosecuting FELONY cases" Nonrefundable Fee: $140

I am not clear on what this is?

Also, the officer who finger printed us did not input our weight on the cards, do we need to go back to the Police station to fix this?

Thanks alot yall.

Welcome to the forum FN57! :tiphat:

I'd answer your question, but I'd get it wrong. Can you put this in better context? Are you referring to licensing fees, and where did you see it?

Re: the fingerprint question. I don't think it makes any difference who writes in the weight. Just make sure it's there. I did on mine. Filled out everything.

Howdy sur and thanks for the welcome! I'm sure I'll spend alot of time here for sure.

This was checked as a fee that was needed to be sent in. I am just not clear on what it means? The quote I insterted above is what I am referring to. I already paid everything in full that the instructor told us was needed. I just don't know what the statement meant.

"Original or Attorney not prosecuting FELONY cases"

This is the "Issuance" next to the $140 fee.

And thank you for the weight answer, we will input our weight ourselves.

All I know is that $140 is the fee for applying for the license but I am not sure why that particular wording is used.

Thanks kevin.

FN, there are actually 2 fees involved in obtaining a CHL. One is a fee to the Department of Public Safety. It is $140 for almost all persons. There are exceptions as military veterans, senior citizens, those in law enforcement, and most attorneys and judges. The second fee involved is your class fee, or the cost for taking the actual certification course.

Does that help?

We are all here to learn. There is a wealth of information on this forum regarding all aspects of CHL, and many knowledgeable people to help any question you may have. Enjoy your stay! :tiphat:

(P.S.) I said an untruth when I said "most attorneys and judges". That is incorrect. I left out the word "prosecuting" before the word attorneys.

Right. In this instance they have to be District Attorneys (DA) or Assistant District Attorneys (ADA).
