I'm using Hornady Critical Defense, which - as I understand it - was specifically designed for LCP & Kel Tec sized guns. It cycles perfectly, just like FMJ. Haven't done my own ballistics testing, but professionals who've done so seem impressed. CD ammo has a little red "plug" (looks almost like a small pencil eraser) inserted inside the hollow point to give better penetration with smaller rounds and also help promote expansion and deter "plugging" of a lower velocity hollow point with dense clothing like denim.

By the way, USA1, if you need some .380 I still have two boxes of Monarch JHP I'm selling. I get to Houston area occasionally to see my folks, so could deliver them to you next time I'm there if I haven't sold them by then. Was supposed to be there in a few weeks for my mom's birthday, but she's going to New Orleans to party instead :biggrinjester:

How are they working for you? I'm a bit nervous to put something as "hot" as Cor Bon into my lil LCP.

I've run about two dozen Gold Dots through mine and they seemed to work fine. One shot stop on the paper target.

If the gun actually had a front site I would still file it flat.

I have a strange feeling you have some Polish blood running through those veins. How are you too?
I am looking to pick up a LCP for a pocket carry but I am waiting for my plastic to come in. I did purchase a couple of boxes of Hornady just because ammo seems to be hard to come by. It’s like putting the cart before the horse. I have been looking for FMJ for practice ammo and haven’t had a lot of luck. I will find some before I get the LCP

They pack some recall, but no issues cycling through either of my LCP's (both post recall fix).

I shoot some regular old Winchesters for practice though, after I ran a test bunch of the Corbons through the LCP's.

I bought 2 boxes of some Remington golden sabres. I tested them 6+1. The 1st two rounds in the mag jammed. Tried my backup mag, jammed 2 also 1st 2 rounds out of the mag again. Then one failure to fire out of the last 11 rds. 5 failures out of the box of 25.
Not good. I have fired about 120 Fiocche FMJ's now with out a failure.

That was week or so ago. The gun was cleaned and lubed prior to use. This week 15 Golden Sabre's and 50 Fioucche's all cycled perfectly. I really lubed it up good this time.

Cant trust the Golden Sabre's just yet. I will probably switch and test something else.

Haven't personally tried Golden Sabres, but have heard similar issues from others. Seems the LCP and clone Kel Tec model both have intermittant problems with certain very flat-nosed JHP rounds. Again, I have no evidence to back this up - just read this in more than one place and talked with folks at ranges, gun stores etc. (yeah yeah, I know, not the most "reliable" bunch :bigmouth ).

This is one of the reasons I jumped on the Hornady Critical Defense when I found a few boxes of it. In addition to helping with penetration & expansion, that little red eraser inside the HP tip apparently aids in proper cycling of these little guns too.

Anyone seen any of Critical Defence in .380 in the Houston area? I've checked
a few stores around town....just can't find any. I did find some in 9mm.
I'm gonna try it in my XD.I shot 50 rounds of WWB with the flat nose through
my LCP last weekend no problems with it.
