If I can get one faster than the DPS can provide one, then at least I'll be covered until I get my Texas plastic.

Here is a site that you can research who honors other state licenses. Just click on Texas and the document will show you who the state honors. Just realize there are some differences in carrying on a non-resident license; one is the exemption from the federal school zone act, so you can't carry within 1000 feet of a school. Another is some states don't recognize non-resident licenses and there seem to be more and more making that move.
