My #2 son, age 24, was in an accident last night. When the LEO ran his DL he came back and said "why are you driving with a suspended license?" He gave him the code that was listed and said he thought it was a DUI suspension. Son was floored as he had no idea, never been arrested, no notice or any clue. He almost never drinks and never to excess. His permanent address is here and nothing has ever shown up here.
Can this be a computer fluke? He called the police department and they said he would have to wait until Monday. We are very upset with the accident, (no major injuries, but two badly damaged cars) and then this.
Suspended DL question

All you can do is go to a DPS license office on Monday. The officer might have made a mistake but either way, DPS will be able to tell you.
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

Yes, he called DPS Monday morning and they said there was no suspension and they will send a letter to the court if necessary. The local LEO said he would receive a citation in the mail for driving with a suspended license. I hope he checks with DPS again before issuing it, or son will have to deal with that. But we feel better for the time. Looks like his truck was probably totaled though.
