I recently purchased a 50 count box of Federal .40 JHP (cheap ammo) and last night I looked at the front of the projectile on one of the rounds and it has a hole in it almost the same size as a jhp.
It appears as if there there wasn't enough lead cast into the mold before they added the copper jacket.
Has anyone else ever had this happen?

This is highly unlikely. The lead in commercial jacketed bullets is not cast from a mold.Johnny Polite wrote:I recently purchased a 50 count box of Federal .40 JHP (cheap ammo) and last night I looked at the front of the projectile on one of the rounds and it has a hole in it almost the same size as a jhp.
