Metal detectors...what to do?

Sort of back on topic. I saw those things at the post office and thought they were metal detectors. I walked on past them and when they did not go off, just figured it was because I was carrying my Glock.

Does that verbal notice override State Law allowing CHL entry into public buildings (with stated exceptions)?

that would be property owned or leased by a "governmental entity"...

which seems like about the most likely of places to have metal detectors.

In other words, no, they can't give verbal notice any more than they can post an enforceable 30.06.

Also.. don't forget. If you do go through the detector, and it beeps, if they ask you to uncover or take out your handgun, DO NOT DO IT.
You could be nabbed on Intentional Failure to Conceal.

Also, if you were to try this, i highly recommend you take a lawyer with you, and someone with a video camera :)

Could they really get you for intentional failure to conceal. If they could, then can they get you for the same thing while putting your weapon in the lock box at the German Embassy. I would not show mine at the movie theater but just wondering.

The German embassy, or any foreign embassy anywhere in the world, is not technically in the country that surrounds it. That bit of land actually belongs to that government, in this case Germany. Neither U. S. or Texas laws apply there.

A minor point, and it doesn't change anything because the rules are the same, but the location in Houston is one of the German Consulates, not the German Embassy. The German Embassy is in D.C.

I'm still stuck on what could there possibly be in a movie theater that would require the need for these RFID towers to prevent theft of merchandise. What merchandise?

I wouldn't be surprised if they RFID the movie tickets.
