Fobus holster for the Taurus Millennium Pro

Post by YabuUS »

Just received my new Fobus holster for my Millennium Pro .45. This is one of the very few OWB holsters made to fit the Millennium from Taurus. It was developed in Israel for the military. It's a formed plastic holster with a passive retaining feature. You have to draw the weapon straight out to release it from the holster. It's a paddle holster and fits the Millennium perfectly. Anybody have any experience with these? So far I like it. More info at http://www.fobusholster.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

i had one for another gun once and was please with the quality .
the only problem i had with it was it wasn't suitable for concealed carry unless wearing a jacket
or other comparable outerwear .

I would say that about all the OWB holsters I'm familiar with. I can cover the weapon easily with a big t-shirt; but getting that big shirt out of the way to draw the weapon could slow you down a bit. Just one more thing to keep in mind.

i just know that my Galco OWB holster holds my gun closer to my body .

I don't have a Galco holster so I can't comment on how easy it is to conceal it. I'll take your word that it hugs the body a bit more than the Fobus. I guess any OWB holster is not going to be as concealable as an IWB holster (or another rig I could mention), and since it was designed for the Israeli military it probably wasn't intended as a concealment holster. Still, with the right cover I think it should work OK. I can see wearing it with a loose fitting sweat shirt for instance. I empathize with your concern about the waistline - anything that makes me wider is a problem. :cheers2:

I bought the Fobus for my G27 at Bass Pro a couple of weeks ago. All the points brought up by others are good.
I have been wearing it for the last week with an OWB shirt and it conceals just fine. One thing I like about it is that I can slide it around from 2 oclock to 4 oclock depending on what feels comfortable or what fits the situation. When getting into my car, I can just slide it around to the 3 oclock. Otherwise I can wear it at 4 oclock where I prefer it.

Hope it works for you.
