Bass Pro sale: Beretta PX4's & Springfield Armory XDM's.

Post by surprise_i'm_armed »

Yesterday, 9/21/09, I received a Bass Pro circular. The sale is on until October 11, 2009.

Bass Pro Shops are located in Grapevine and Garland, probably other Texas sites too.

Here's the sale pistols:

Beretta PX4 Storm. 9mm, single/double action. Removable front and rear sights.
17 round capacity. Blued finish. Sale price $549.94. Regular price $579.99. Save $30.

Springfield Armory XDM. 9mm, 4.5" match grade barrel, 19 round capacity. Solid black (not bitone).
$659.94. Regular price $699.99. Save $40.

Hope someone is looking for one of these.

I will be interested with PX4SC, sighted once at Academy, in Mckinney for $519 lowest online was $489 plus 25 shipping and FFL fee no tax. It would still cheaper to get it online.

That's not a good price on the XDM. They are very over-priced on the XDMs.

That's way over on the XDM. I just picked up the XDM in Stainless for $599.

The majority of the time you can find lower prices online. You have to figure in shipping and FFL transfer fees, but it is usually cheaper. Bud's gun shop makes it easier by showing the price "shipped". The only bad part is you have to wait a few days to get your gun.

I bought an XD9 from Bud's and received it three days later. FFL fee came out to $20 at Martini Hardware here in Houston. Saved about $140 vs buying at Academy.

Carter Country had much better prices on the XDM than Bass Pro did when I went.

I bought a PX4 from Academy for $519, lowest price I've seen in stores. Don't you tack on another 50 bucks when you buy one online to have it transferred into your name or does that not matter if you're in Texas?

Various FFL's charge different ammounts for transfers. $20 is common.

Buds "shipped" price is a little misleading. It is a cash price (so +3% foc CC's) and it does not include insurance. Not a big deal on a cheap purchase, but buying expensive stuff there is not as cheap as it looks. Of course Buds aren't the only place who backend additional charges, but it put me off when I was 1911 shopping earlier in the year.

And yes even with the +/- $50 shipping & ffl fee you will nearly always find a better deal online. It requires a little trust (especially on private party purchase) and a little patience but deals are easy to find. The first pistol that I bought back in Oct 08 cost me $775 OTD Vs a quote of $1100+ that i got at my local shop. Of course the latter price included the sales tax that I was to be avoiding, but even so choices like that are a no-brainer.

Brand new at the Ft Worth Gun show. I will have to go back and see the shop's name I bought it from.

Mine is a XDM40, not a 9 like in the Bass Pro Ad (I got it yesterday). So Bass Pro is WAY WAY over.

Bass Pro and Cabella's are very high priced, although there are deals to be had on long guns and ocassionally they get some desirable guns such as the LCR's in limited quantities due to their purchasing power, get there when the doors open and you can typically be able to snag one. We have been selling the same XDM for $579.00, they are starting to become plentiful in the marketplace so prices are starting to drop, the big box stores have a very large overhead and typically cannot compete with the smaller mom and pop shops, most of which will match lower prices if they possibly can. People who are willing to shop around and wait a day or two can typically save lot's of money and spend it on ammo...........
