No guns on premises

Post by A-R »

Thought y'all would get a kick out of this unique way of posting a meaningless "gunbusters" notice, on a marquee sign at a strip center on Highway 79 in Round Rock.

Nice. Looks like the sort of place where it would be foolish NOT to be armed. :coolgleamA:

That is  funny.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

I think it is pretty nice of the landlords to post that sign on the street. Saves me time from having to pull into the parking lot. I wonder how the tenants feel about the loss of business...

I'd guess the tenants demanded the landlord "do something" about customers shooting each other in and around their stores...so he "did something." A plastic sign is a heck of a lot cheaper than armed security, cameras, off-duty LEO, etc...

I thinke Lodge is probably right. There is a Tejano disco nightclub place in this center - exactly the kind of place that probably experiences a high rate of late night "problems".

I used to live very near there. There is a C&W bar in that parade, and IIRC there was a shooting incident there a few years ago. I forget the details, but I'd bet that is the reason - the sign appeared soon afterwards.

Would be interesting to write a letter to each tenant, explaining exactly why you won't be visiting their businesses, and see how long that sign stays up...

It would work on me...Me or mine would not frequent the businesses there!

It is funny though! BG's will see that and say "Damn, we can't commit armed robbery there, They don't allow guns!...Dangit!"
To err is human.
To forgive is divine.
Neither of which is Marine Corps policy.

No problems there, I don't carry a GUN. I do fancy a pistol though..
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the Body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind . . . Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks."
