East Texas State Fair (Tyler) -- any CHL hassles?

Post by kahrfreak »

Thinking about heading out to the Smith Co. fair this weekend with family, just wanted to know if I could expect any hassle with regards to CHL carry. Are they searching at the entrance like they do at the Texas State Fair?

As it turned out, there was a "gunbusters" sign at the entrance, which obviously didn't apply to CHLs. LEO presence, but no metal detectors, no wands...so, got to enjoy both the fair and my 2A rights!

We went to the Tyler fair today. I didn't even see the gunbuster sign.

The fair was phenomenally disappointing. It seems that the fair is no longer a exhibition of production, but rather a celebration of consumption. It was really a carnival and not much more. Sad and depressing.
