The only problem I have had with my UCII so far is one single premature lock back.
It was with a colt factory mag. Since then, I have only been using the Factory Kimber that came with it, and Wilsons, and have not had a problem.
Probably 300-400 rounds through it now.

It's really npt a coinsidence, but Kimbers have a reputation for benefiting from a fluff and buff out of the box..Sometimes they work and and sometimes they need work. My response was to a reference that quality guns shouldn't need ramp polishing, from what I have observed utility guns like glocks, rugers Taurus and Berrettas don't seem to benefit from polishing the ramp. Its the fancy 1911s like the KImbers that seem to benefit.03Lightningrocks wrote:LOL...yeah...what's with taking at shot at Kimber?YabuUS wrote:"And the Kimber fans replied......"Liberty wrote: Kimbers have been made actually usable with a bit of fluff and buff.![]()
By coincidence my Kimber Ultra Carry is the reason I asked. It seems to be improving but for a while there I could hardly get through three magazines of Federal JHP Hydroshocks without a failure to feed. It feeds FMJ just fine. Anyway...I do find it funny that Liberty brings up Kimber which just happens to be the one I am having issues with. Wait a minute. Maybe it isn't funny.

I just purchased a full size Kimber Raptor and fired about 100 rounds of FMJ with not one failure of any kind. Maybe it is just the smaller Kimbers. They are unbelievably fun to shoot though and are accurate right out of the box. I admit it...I am hooked on the 1911's now. I'm about to sell all my sigs.
