Anyone shot the Buf Bore low recoil out of a titanium yet?

Post by couzin »

Saw a box of the Buffalo Bore 158gr "tactical short barrel, lower recoil, low flash 357 mag", ammunition yesterday and bought a box. Has anyone shot any of this out of a small ('J") frame titanium revolver (S&W 360PD)? Specs state 1,100 fps.

I had been carrying Speer 135gr golddot - and shooting up the old box at the range when time to buy new ammo - just enough to remind that the little gun can smack a little. Thought I would try this BB stuff out.

"tactical short barrel, lower recoil, low flash 357 mag"
I've never shot that particular load, but coming from them, I would expect the "lower recoil" part to be very subjective

I'd have to agree about the recoil. I've used their 158 gr +P.38 Special from my model 60, and while not uncontrollable, it was pretty stiff recoil. It's supposed to do 1040 fps from a 2" barrel, although I've never chronographed it.

I have used the 140 gr 'tactical' .357 magnum in a 4" model 13, and it's definitely still got plenty of recoil, more than say, a Remington 125 gr Golden Saber, but far less than Buffalo Bore's or Double Tap's really hot stuff. It's all pretty subjective, I'm interested to know what you find out.

I just shot some of the BB 158gr and, while it still has some recoil, it is no worse than the Speer 135gr out of the 360PD. I even tried mixing them in the cylinder to see if there would be something noticeable. The rounds didn't unseat, and second shots were relatively quick (but sure as heck not in the hole of the first round in the target at 7 yds). Flash? - I was not in a dark lane - but it did look like there was less. Here is the biased review from BB on the ammo http://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l= ... tail&p=105.
