Screw that, if you have earned the right to get tazed you (as the individual) take the risks. The only thing that does is make the officer second guess and/or delay shot reaction. The harder it is to acquire a target the greater chance the BG has time to get away/retaliate. I'd say that more protects the manufacturer from a law suit for building a lethal 'non-lethal' weapon.
