A nit: to be absolutely correct, it is 100 feet from any outside door through which a voter may enter a building that contains a polling place... For ease of control, most voting places try to have only one entrance, generally the front, but it's not always possible -- like when the polling location is in a school...or a mall.

Trying to read the election code, that was something that puzzled me about setting up in a mall. A strict reading of the law would make the entire mall a "polling place".

Plus, the law says polling places must be public buildings whenever possible.

There shouldn't be a restriction on carrying in a polling place in the first place. It's not like there are big debates going on there (electioneering is banned). People are just quietly going about their business and voting.

I apologize for the delay in responding to questions. I was forced to take the afternoon off to cook ribs and have a few beers. Nothing like sacrificing for a good cause.

Was the "polling place/voting table" in the common walk area of the mall, or was it inside a store?
The registration table and voting machines were in the common hall way not in a store

Bluemoon1, was there voting going on or were they just handing out early voting absentee ballots?
