Yeah, but having been a sailor for 4 years, I got to touch a gun once on Navy time and that was in boot camp. Other than that, they knew better and let the USMC do all the dangerous work. All we had to do was stay out of intakes and away from the tail end of the hornets while they were fired up.

But... It does sound more like something a sailor would do rather than a mistake a Marine would make.
