If you think Daley is stupid, what do you call the people who elect and then re-elect the various Daley's around this country?

Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone...

Yet Mayor Daley needs to get his own house in order, before throwing rocks...

Of course minding his own business is a definite plus... :thumbs2:

Look around the country where the gun laws are most restrictive and then look into the political affiliation of the majority of the office holders. It's sad to say but that is the "tale of the tape".

Well, we get to blame Chicago for Obama!

He's a greater danger than all of the firearms in the USA.

They wouldn't be in office if hordes of people even dumber than they are didn't elect them.

In our republic, we truly get the government we collectively deserve and have no one to blame but ourselves.

In the recent election 11 amendments to the state constitution were decided by six percent of the electorate. The rest of our citizens didn't care enough about how they're governed to vote. Anyone who isn't terrified by that and what it portends for the future of our nation just isn't paying attention.

Let's keep that in mind next time we're tempted to watch TV instead of get out and vote, or use the "eenie meenie minie moe" method of selecting who to vote for instead of researching the candidates and voting based on their stands on the issues.

If you really look at it close you will see that Cooke County (Chicago) controls the politics for the whole State of Illinois. How can the people of an entire state let a bunch of liberals go unchecked and ruin their state? I just don't get it!

Look at the numbers:

Illinois population, just under 13,000,000
Chicago MSA population, almost 10,000,000

That's how.

Cook (no e) County IL, while not being entirely the city of Chicago, is entirely controlled by the City of Chicago, as is most of the state. When I lived in IL I was deeply involved in ISRA and a grassroots movement to decentralize IL politics, but some of our allies turned out to be worse than useless, first there was Ryan, whose grandson was on a basketball team with our son, and then there was Blago, who made high sounding promises that he never even came close to keeping.

NY State is another state that get mostly controlled by one bunch of liberals, in NY City. When I lived in NY I was active in NYSR&PA and was also involved in a group that advocated severance of NY City from upstate.

Boston exerts undue influence over the rest of the state of Masschussetts, and what city do you think of when someone mentions California?

ACORN...Does that name ring a bell with anyone? Remember that guy that just took occupancy at 1600 Penn Ave? Where is he from? How did he get elected?
Daley is the heart and soul of the Chicago political machine.

I lived in Naperville, IL for 8 years ('98~'06), and I can't think of a single soul there that likes Daley. They would love to see hime gone. But all (OK...most) the sensible folks live in the burbs, not in Chicago, and therefore, cannot vote him out. It's the Chicago political machine that keeps him in office. If you were to ask the average Chicago resident what is so great about Daley, they will likely tell you that he's been there a long time and they recognize the name. After all, he did follow in his father's foot steps. I'm guessing that Daley has a warehouse somewhere full of blackmale material on anyone that would oppose him for mayor. He's so well entrenched that he's a permanent fixture.

BTW, Chicago proper is only 2.8M in population, just 600K above Houston. The overall Chicagoland population is around 10Mil. This includes roughly 9 counties and 72 burbs.

I'm so glad to be back home!!! :txflag:

The Chicago Mayor is a fool and a gangster himself. No wonder he needs bodyguards!

He needs to keep his idiot thoughts within his State's boundaries.

All I can say is this dodo needs to mind his own business in Chicago. People like this disgust me, and to think that they are elected officials :banghead: :headscratch
