Glad your issues were fixed. my son got his P380 back and it is worse now than before he sent it back. I guess they don't fire many rounds through them to test the operation. He can't get through a whole magazine without a failure to go into battery. Frustrating...very frustrating. Now he has to send it back to them...again. Not very impressive for a 650 dollar handgun.

ELB wrote: I have to say, for problems with Kahrs, I have read many more accounts of problems with the P series, the polymers, than the K (steel frame) series. I actually can't remember reading any about the K's. There seems to be something about the polymer version. I really like the design, it is a great little pistol for a singlestack, but if I bought another Kahr it would definitely be a steel frame version.
I have mentioned this before but I think this is a likely logical error. I have read plenty of reports of cracked frames on steel Kahrs (mag well) and never a report like that on a polymer pistol. But in reality, I think the reason you hear so many more issues with polymer Kahr pistols is because there are a lot more poly Kahrs out there.

There may be steel frames cracking -- I have not read of this myself, but it would not surprise me -- but I have read of, and experienced, many reliability problems with the polymer versions, on this board and others, and they seem to take several efforts to fix. Reliability problems are showstoppers for a defense pistol. If I had to choose between the two, the steel frame would be a clear cut winner, even with cracking problems -- that's something easily identifiable and fixed.

As it goes, I solved the problem by carrying a Hi Power.

I just have to jump in here...

The old adage is true, unhappy people will scream from the rooftops, and the happy people keep to themselves.

I have had a little P9 for just over a year now and it has been flawless. I bought it because it fit my wife's hand and she felt comfortable with the size. I will admit, I had read the reports of failures beforehand and on the first trip to the range I was sweating as the first round failed to go into battery. One little tap to the back of the slide and this little gun has been flawless. It runs like a top. I would wager that most of the Kahrs out there are more like my gun than the bad ones.

And it just disappears in an IWB holster. Can't complain about the size.
