Wife and I went over to AMC 30 (at Grapevine Mills, but not inside the mall) last week to watch a movie. I noticed a little, and I mean little 30.06 sign, right at the entrance, waaaaay to small to be legal. Couple that with their HIGH prices and you can guess correctly - we cruised on over to Tinseltown. BTW - I haven't check the 30.06 signage at GV Mills in awhile, but last time I looked it was not worded correctly.

We wanted to check that to and compare it to the letter of the law. Because we weren't 100% certain it was completely compliant.

If you go to the entrance across the sidewalk from the movie ticket booths the sign should be located on the right side of the doors there. Maybe I'll go by and check today. I've got not much on my schedule today and have the time to verify. I can also drop off the letters to the individual stores.

What did bug me was that the mall across the parking lot is 30.06. We've known this since moving into the area. It bothered us then, it bothers me now. It especially bugged me yesterday because if that 30.06 wasn't posted, they would have gotten business and I'd have been better entertained. Instead I sat in the waiting room, chatted with the guys, played on Facebook mobile and spent only $1200 for the day.

I plan on writing a letter to the mall. I expect to get a brush off reply. I don't think anything will come of it but I'm sending one none the less. Tips on writing a pleasant yet compelling letter?
Simon is just a little panty waist. Don't write to them alone, write to the occupants as they also LOST money. :rules:

Actually the mall doesn't lose money at all if the tenants stay, so at this point, they wouldn't care at all if tenants lose business, as long as they continue paying rent. ... The Tenants however may want to locate themselves in a place where they'd get more shoppers, if they find out why business is down or "could be better", instead of just blaming "the economy".

Many mall leases collect a percentage of sales. However, since CHL holders are less than 1% of the population, I suspect we'll have little impact on Simon Properties and their ilk.

Anyway, I have visited subject mall on a number of occasions as recently as 3 weeks ago. I have made a significant effort to determine whether entry by an armed CHL holder was prohibited by Texas law. I don't know about other posters on this forum, but I haven't personally received notice written or verbal that leads me to believe that my entry is barred. I looked for compliant signs conspicuously posted, I checked to see if they are a school, courthouse, or prison where an execution is taking place... Nope.

If I wanted to carry there, I would... I live nearby.
