fist basic holster review

Post by saj111 »

i've been wearing a fist basic holster for about six weeks now. the reason i went with the fist is because i was able to order it with a plastic interior and leather exterior. i use a blade tech holster in idpa and like the draw from plastic but i like wearing leather.
i ordered it with the plastic interior, body protector and retention screw. after using the holster i discover it does not need the retention screw so i could have saved that nine dollars.
the holster arrived three weeks after i placed the order, which is pretty good for a custom order. the workmanship is not absolute perfection which tells me there was a lot of human work on it. don't get me wrong the holster looks great.
like i said, i've been wearing it for six weeks or so. that is constant wear. the only time it does not have my 3" kimber in it is while i am inside my work place where i am not allowed to carry so i remove the gun and leave it in the car. this can be tough to remember because it is so comfortable. i've never had a holster this comfortable and like most of you i have a box full at home. sitting at home on the sofa i forget it is there. that is high praise.
the gun is held high and tight to the body. the draw is somewhat tighter than my competition holster but very nice. i'm confident of it's retention ability.
needless to say, i highly recommend this holster and plan to order one for my colt commander soon.
i haven't photographed it but here is a link and mine looks exactly like the one in the picture with the addition of the body protector and retention screw. you can't see the thin layer of plastic.
hope this helps if you are in the market for a holster.
