Funny story, Fort Polk, LA 1967 - - - I had just arrived at my Basic training company, on the second or third day our Drill Sergeant told us to go to the supply room and get our magazines (M-14.) Several of the guys thought we were going to be issued reading material.

The instructor will take into account the capacity of your gun. At the DPS range, some of the instructors on have 5 shot revolvers. When we fire the 2 shot exercise (10 rounds), those students will do it in 3 stages, load 4, shoot 4, load 4 shoot 4, load 2, shoot 2.
