Nice gun. Kimber are great guns
Re: First time 1911 owner
i have the same gun it is an awesome reliable gun, IWB i use a milt sparks holster the BEST and more COMFORTABLE holster that i have worn and i have tried a few, you can bypass the 6 month wait by going to http://www.topgunsupply.com/holsters-mi ... -vm2-1911/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you pay a bit more of a premium but its worth it not having to wait (i know i ordered one for my px4 storm and 6month wait sucked) or if you want a OWB a bladetech works nice, slim comfortable and have a locking mechanism so gun cant be forced out , enjoy the gun!

The last 2 days I carried my Custom TLE II, which is a slightly upgraded version of your Custom II, in my usual carry rig which is a CrossBreed Supertuck Deluxe. The holsters and belts are relatively low cost, I payed about $170 for my belt, holster, and mag carrier I got from them. I will admit that I did take the NRA discount which is 10%. He offers three discounts one For NRA members, one for LEOs, and one for Military. All three discounts are 10% and you can only use one when you order. the website is http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Congratulations on the new purchase and welcome to the club. Kimber makes quite a few nice looking guns, if I had the $$ to spend I'd look at them more seriously. I'll second the CrossBreed Supertuck IWB holster, I carry my compact 1911 in one and it's very comfortable and very concealable. Nice to have the tucked or untucked option as well.
Very nice first 1911 but be forewarned...it won't be your last!

Check out Comp-Tac-
http://www.comp-tac.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The Minotaur is very good. I carry a 5 inch 1911 in one and I am very pleased with the holster. They are located just off 1960, not far from you. Average wait time is 8 days.
Good company, good products at fair prices.

holsters are really personal and you will need to do some testing. I use a Galco Summer Special for IWB, it has no retention from coming out the top but does hold firmly in place from falling down, plus it fits my 3" to my 6" just fine. OWB I have a leather pancake that holds it up high and several Kydex but I dont like the Kydex as it puts too much weight on the outside edge and tends to pulll outward.
