Slide Lock extension?

Post by seniorshooteress »

My Glock 26 needs a slide lock extension and I don't know where to find that little part. I can't seem to get the slide to go back into firing postion by just pushing down on the lock, I can push back the slide a bit more and push on the slide lock and it goes into firing position but isn't a Glock 26 supposed to go back just by pushing down on the slide lock? I have called the gun stores and they say they can put the part on for me I just have to locate the part. I have tried MidwayUSA.com and all I see on there is the whole slide mechinisum (need spell check on here) not just the little attachment to go on the slide lock. Does anyone know where I can find this part? Thanks

We have one on our Glock. It was put on at The Arms Room in League City for a very small price.

Edit: They had them in stock (Glock Armourer).

seniorshooteress. Are you talking about the slide lock (take down lever) or the slide stop. i get my parts from topglock.com. Just click on parts tab on left side of page. Highlight the part on the list and it will show you where it is on the pistol. NEVER had trouble/problems with this company. Orders have always arrived before expected delivery date. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

You can also release the slide on your Glock by "slingshoting" the slide. To do this you take your support hand grab the slide pull it back as far as it will go and release it. Similar to shooting a rock from a slingshot. When you do this you release the slide lock and drop the slide all in one movement without disturbing your shooting grip.
