Your opinion

Post by tqu9047 »

New to the forum and just wanted your opinion.
I have a Taurus PT745 as my main carry and a Bersa 380 as my BUG.
Just so you know, I like my Taurus and it gives me about a 4in circle at 15 yds.
What do you think of these as carry weapons?

I have no experience with either of these weapons, but if you're getting a 4" circle at 15 yards it sounds like a fine choice. Now practice one handed with your strong and then weak hands, but do it at 10-20 feet. Stats say not much is going to happen much further than that and more than likely closer.

Welcome to a fine group of people.

Welcome. No experience with the Taurus but have a Bersa 380 and would not want to use it as a Bug. For me little to big and heavy. If I had my druthers, I would go with the LCP, Kel-tec or that new Diamondback if it proves reliable for a BUG. I got the Bersa as a sometimes primary carry but it just sits in my safe now.

Check out the new Taurus TCP 738 as your BUG. Beats the Kel Tec and in my opinion, better than the LCP> Stays open on last round too and cheaper!

Welcome to the forum tqu9047! Glad to have you with us. :tiphat:

I think you have a fine selection of carry guns. Nice groupings on the big gun, and a great BUG gun. In fact one of our forum members uses the Bursa as her carry piece. Nothing wrong with that. I guess you could say I carry a mouse gun too as primary carry.

What part of this great State do you hail from? :txflag:

Will try to answer. First, I had the Kel Tec P3AT, fits in the pocket real good but not very accurate past arms length(a little exageration). Yes the Bersa is a little on the heavy side but I carry it in the small of the back and my Taurus at 4 o'clock.
Lastly, I am in Euless, right in the middle of the metroplex. Was in South Irving for a while but it became home to a few too many gangs, so we sold that house and bought another one here in Euless. Love it.
On a different note, where is a good place to shoot around here? I have always gone to DFW Gun Range on Mockingbird. Some forum members like the place and some will never go back. I have never had a problem getting a lane.

Several of us shoot at the range at Winchester Gallery, located on the corner of Loop 820 E. and E.Lancaster. It's where I shoot. An indoor range with plenty of lanes always open. The price can't be beat either. And it's sure convenient for you, as it is me. I live in north Arlington, and it's only 8 minutes from my house.

Thanks for all the info. Whwn the weather breaks, I will try Elm Fork. In the meantime, I am heading to Winchester soon. I hear that they have a large selction of holsters and accessories. I will see how much trouble I can get in with my better half($$$$$).
