TAM's signature led me here and, and My Lord, I may be the worst offender.
I read fast and I type fast. That's my excuse.
I read every word of every Topic I visit. I do that before I proffer a reply. That might be a good idea for others: read before you post.
For me, posts that offer no salient information are pointless. I appreciate humor: but please don't flood the Forums with one-liners or a slew of emoticons.
I look to this board for useful information, and I do my best to contribute same.
IMHO, the problem isn't long posts.
Think hard, Abraham. Take two aspirin, then call me tomorrow.

I am just the opposite. I read slow, type slow, have to think about what I say, then revise, then fix the revision. before I post I do read all of it. I have read long ones that were well worth it. I have quit som pretty short ones after the 3rd sentence.

Well, I read my posts before I hit the "Submit" button. Does that qualify as reading really long posts?
But seriously, it all depends on whether or not the subject matter is interesting.

So I guess you prefer to read a post which is one ginormous paragraph?
Not me - I'm a fan of some white space every few lines. I generally read most
everything on here.
The bee in my bonnet is when someone starts a thread with an ambiguous one-word
"Subject" like "Oops" so you have no idea what the heck's in there.
When a thread is started, the OP should use all or most of the "Subject" line so that
the rest of us will know if we are interested or not.
I'm just sayin....
