Got my application in the mail..
So i got my application in the mail and took my CHL class. Must say, i learned alot in the class. On the section on the application (# 17) regarding criminal history, it states "Indicate any criminal history information on yourself, including juvenile criminal history data. Include any offenses for which you were arrested, or charged under an information or indictment". When i was in college, i was never arrested, but received two tickets. One was for pedestrian in roadway and another for stereo amplification ( does not fall under disorderly conduct). Both are class c misdemeanors from what i was told. My question is, do i need to declare these tickets/violations? I ask this because in that section it asks for the offense, date of arrest, arresting agency and full disposition but i was never arrested when i received these tickets. One was while i was driving, and the other while walking so I am confused on how i would fill this section out. Also, this is going to sound dumb, but are those tickets considered under "criminal history"? Thanks for the help everyone.

Re: Got my application in the mail..
cubbyjg, let me scold you by saying there's no such thing as a dumb question.
We are all here to learn. Your question is a good and valid one.
If you were not arrested, taken to jail and photographed, fingerprinted and processed into the jail then IMHO you do not need to list that in the criminal history section. If the ticket you received for the violation never resulted in a warrant for your arrest, then you don't have to list it.
Does that help?

It does Joe, thanks alot. One more question. For these same tickets, i did go to court. The first ticket i did deferred adjudication, and the second i paid the fee. Does going to court have an effect on this section?

Re: Got my application in the mail..
Joe is correct. The DPS definition of "arrest" for CHL purposes is "photographed and fingerprinted by a law enforcement agency in connection with a crime". Tickets, as you described, do not fall under that definition.
