Haiti and Family Update

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Haiti and Family Update

Post by quidni »

Got word that Michael was able to leave Haiti this afternoon on a military transport flight. He had both Witson and Louvencia with him, as well as 10 other children from the orphanage. They expect more children to follow tomorrow or the next day as their paperwork is completed as well. They will probably spend a couple days in Florida before returning to Colorado; Michael got "rather ill" while in Haiti and needs some medical attention of his own. The kids all seem to be in pretty good condition, considering.

Steve will be driving up to Albuquerque NM tomorrow morning. His dad had a heart attack this weekend, and the hospital in Durango CO is transferring him to Presbyterian in ABQ. Triple bypass surgery expected either Monday or Tuesday. Steve's brother David will be flying to ABQ from Fargo ND as soon as he can get on a flight.

Susan was able to laugh a little bit this afternoon; she's quoted as saying "I worked my dad so hard this last week that I gave him a heart attack, and Mom will have one when she finds out our family is indebted to Hillary Clinton and Oprah Winfrey for getting the kids out!"

God has watched over our family in so many ways for so many years... we trust that He will continue to look after my father-in-law and bless those who have been such a blessing to us during this last year.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Prayers for all of you guys Qudini. This is a very big undertaking, but I know all of you will be blessed by it, and it will be a major blessing for those poor unfortunate children, as they will now have a chance for a wonderful future. Will add extra prayers for the father-in-law on his surgery.

God bless,

My Dad-in-law's surgery was postponed until today... they wanted to wait until most/all the blood-thinner was out of his system before proceeding.

Word this afternoon is that the surgery went quite well, was uneventful, and his heart "spontaneously started" when it was supposed to. Doctors are pleased; the family is ecstatic!

God has certainly been watching out for our family.

Susan and Michael now have Witson and Louvencia home in CO with them. The adoption isn't finalized yet but they do have legal guardianship of the children now. I'm waiting as patiently as I can for pictures!
