Keep My Brother In Your Thoughts

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Keep My Brother In Your Thoughts

Post by MasterofFajitas »

My younger and only Brother will be having a spinal fusion tomorrow at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and if you could, please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks all,

Mark

Mark, I had that surgery myself in 2004. Even though that was only 6 years ago, things have come a long way since even then. Your brother is going to be fine. I had the L4/L5 disc fragments removed, and L4 and L5 fused with cadaver bone and titanium hardware. I was in surgery and recovery all day long, but I was up and took my first steps early the next morning. The surgery did hurt pretty badly afterward, but they gave me all the pain relief I needed, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Ten days later, I was hiking in the California foothills with my wife.

Even though I continue to have some back problems, I am orders of magnitude better off than before I had the surgery.

Lord, please keep Mark's brother and family secure in the knowledge that you are the Great Healer. Guide his surgeon's hands. We trust that you will bring him safely through this, and that you will be a comfort to all. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Good afternoon all,

My Brother's surgery went well yesterday and there were no intraoperative complications. I was able to speak with him this afternoon and his spirits are high; furthermore, he has been ambulating and tells me that he's not in much pain at all.

Thank you to everyone that remembered my family in thought and prayer.
