CD Defense will still be offering the ARs, and possibly another long gun, but the 1911 handguns are no more.
A shame. I considered them the class of the Phillipine 1911s.

So, do you think they become collectable and more valuable, worthless or unaffected in their value?

I don't think they will become collectible. They are still an Armscor product, which means they are serviceable and reliable.
I would say they are between the top of RIAs line and the base Taurus 1911. They have the beavertail safety, ambi thumb safety, Novak-style sights, stainless barrel for less than $500 new. Good shooters, not collectors.

At different stages, all of the above.

They don't have any sudden collectability, because the CD name has been on so many guns for decades. As word gets around, expect the retail price to drop drastically because warranty support will be problematic at best. On the other hand, when it comes to 1911s and ARs, there are lots of folks who can do any work they might need. And, there will be a handful of guns that are worth more simply because someone can prove they were one of the last ones made.

I have an Ultra X and love it, it's one of my favorite 1911's, great pistol. In the present gun climate, something big must have happened for them to go under.

Apparently they bet the house on their new model, built to specs from customer input to be manufactured by BUL in Israel.
Then BUL said they were going to build that gun for Magnum Research instead. They gave the specs to a competitor, basically, and told Kassner "Too bad".
At least that's Kassners story, and he has always appeared to be a straight shooter.
