Tumbling material

Where do you guys get your tumbling material? I can't seem to find them anywhere around here. Or maybe because I'm blind.

If there are any cheaper alternatives, I would like to know too. Other than the bullets from Precision Bullets, I've got everything needed. Went to the gunshow yesterday and cleaned out one lady's Clay powder. She had 4 - 1 lb can and I bought them all. lol. Then 3000 large pistol CCI primer, and 2000 small pistol CCI primer. I've also started to watch the Dillon Video last night and reseated the dies. Just looking for tumbling material and waiting on bullets now.

The lowest cost tumbling media I have found is at Petco. Look for "Kaytee All Natural Walnut Litter for Birds" at your local Petco. It is about half the price of "Reloading Walnut Media" and the way I look at it, ground walnut is simply ground walnut. If you want to use a poishing adder then I would recommend Dillon or one of the other major brands of tumbling polish.

You both have to agree to not blame me if birds make a nest in your tumbler!!

I heard a couple of years ago about reloaders saving money by using walnut from Petco. I had looked several times but never found it. My brother found it for me last sprind during his visit. It will probably save you some time if you ask for it by name.

I buy 50# bags of crushed walnut hulls from Clemtex on McCarty Dr. in Houston for $18/bag. They come in different grits.

Found them at Petsmart for $19 per 25# bag. That will get me going for now.

I am a Clemtex buyer as well, but I use thier Corn Cob for the shiniest of shines

Corn Cob runs about $14 for 50 pounds. They have a cool set of Bins so you can compare grit size before buying.

Once you order and pay they hand you a receipt and then send you over to a smaller warehouse across the street.
