NBA Jam Session
My wife scored tickets to the NBA Jam Session at the Dallas Convention Center this Saturday. Any idea whether carry will be allowed there or not? I know carry at a professional sporting event is a no no but as far as I know, this is just autograph sessions and vendors and such so not sure....

Re: NBA Jam Session
Tough call on this one. It is sponsored by Adidas, but there are tons of corporate sponsors for the actual games. One thing to be cautious of; we can't carry at a professional sports event. This is an event and includes LOTS of professional athletes, so it could be construed as professional sports event, even though I don't think that was the intent of the statute.

Thanks Keith. I was afraid the presence of all the professional athletes might be enough to construe it as a professional sporting event. *sigh* I guess to be on the safe side of the law, I'll probably leave it in the car.
Thanks for the input!!

Re: NBA Jam Session
i left mine in the car and glad I did once I seen the metal detectors.
I would recommend getting there early because of the parking, which was horrible on Wed. (Mav's Night) and that day was supposed to be a light day for attendance.

Ah. Metal detectors. Reckon that settles it. Thanks for the heads up about parking. I'll try to get my wife out the door early. We have been together for over 4 years and have yet to be on time to Anything.

Haven't you learned to tell her everything starts 30 minutes to 1 hour before it actually does.

Carry away and when they catch you at the metal detectors just say "This ain't Washington DC and I'm not Gilbert Arenas. This is Texas and we have RIGHTS here!"
