There's plenty of room in Texas as long as you don't bring your way of thinking and try to change things here.

:iagree:

that's why my second favorite bumper sticker, after "Native Texan", is "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could". There are people born outside of Texas who truly belong here. And there are people born outside of Texas who need to stay there.

Wow, that's an eerie comment when you consider the guy who flew the plane into the building last week came here from California. Wish he'd flown that plane back to Leftyland instead of into a building.

I was born in Portsmouth Naval Hospital to a couple of Texan's and got here about 6 weeks later after my Dad finished his four years. It has always bugged me that I can't claim to be a native. So close, so very close.

Actually, I think if you're born to two Texans and get here before you eat your first plate of barbecue, then that counts officially.

Born in Dallas! So I can get a Native Texan plate, if they didnt require you to prove it, you'd have a bunch of Oklahomans driving around with them

There are some of us that were born in California that do not subscribe to the leftist ways. That's why we move here. Despite what some people think, not all native Californians are "hippies" or liberals! I understand the fact that some from the north or the left-coast want to impose liberal thinking and change Texas, but not all of us think that way. Don't lump us all together.

What he said. For the record, I was born in Minnesota, but have worked at the Johnson Space Center since 1977.

Yes...it appears Bill O Reilly is anti-gun. I was watching the show that the above interview happened on. It doesn't surprise me one bit. Most elitist rich folks are anti-gun. Why??? Think about it for a minute. They can afford high dollar security so they really don't feel they need a gun for self defense. They are mostly afraid of the average person...or the huddled masses. Why? ....because they have so much compared to the rest of humanity. They have the fear that the rest of us will say it is unfair and take it away from them. Disarm the huddled masses and you have reduced the chances of the huddled masses revolting against the elite class. Huge wealth makes one see things in a very different light than the average human. I wonder how the whole anti-gun thing works for him when traveling with gun toting Glenn Beck?

This was discussed on Tom Greshem's GunTalk yesterday. I had forgotten (if I even knew it) that after Katrina, a federal law was passed against future gun confiscations due to weather. He said the bill was introduced by Bobby Jindol when he was a representative. Anyone know the specifics?

My folks were living in Albuquerqe when i was due.
Mom drove home to San Angelo just in time for my birth.
I'm just glad they didn't drive to Ohio where my Dad is from.
Thanks Mom! :thumbs2:

<gets on soapbox and turns on "off-topic" blinking sign>

It doesn't matter what State you came from. From New York to California. Or Washingon to Florida, and all states in between. The fact is that you DID come to Texas. For what ever the reason...a better job; more opportunities; to escape oppressive winters' cold; to get to a better economical climate with no state income tax; to escape oppressive laws/culture/taxes. For what ever the reason.

All of you who weren't born here have one thing in common. You show the same pioneer spirit that helped build this great State to what it is today. I see you as no different than Stephen F. Austin's "Old 300". The first 300 families that Austin helped immigrate to Texas in 1821. You had the courage to uproot your family and move here for a better life for yourselves and your children.

Make no mistake about it. You ARE a Texan. Let no one tell you different! The disparaging remarks made that you used to live in one state or another, sickens me. You are here now...and claim Texas citizenship. That's all that matters.

I salute each and every one of you for living here. Thank you and God Bless Texas! :txflag:
