DART buses , DART Lightrail & T.R.E.

Post by garcia946 »

I had a guy call me yesterday that had a question about DART buses and the T.R.E. , if it was ok for him to carry on them.
He told me that he had already called customer service , but the person did`nt know for sure. I asked him if they were posted since he rode them and he said "no" also.
I told them since they are not posted he should be fine. Am I wrong or can he carry on them??
I don`t ride them so want to make sure.
Can someone help me with an answer. :bigear: Thanks for the help. :tiphat:

DART has no prohibitions regarding carrying. I don't know about TRE, but I'd assume they don't, either.

It's not a school bus or school transportation. It's public transportation. Carry away.

Anecdotal reports from DART users in the Richardson area
said that when they leave their cars in the DART lots they get
broken into regularly.

But the DART police officers are all cozy in their offices or cars, drinking
coffee.

Plus, why does DART get to issue tickets in the HOV lanes in Dallas?

Anyone ever use Dart in the DFW Area? it's worthless.
I had to go from Salinas to North Lake one time (Car broke down) on the Bus, so it took me to DOWNTOWN DALLAS and I had to catch another bus. Total time 1 1/2 hours, to go 10 miles. Apparently this was the Norm according to the other riders I talked to.

I'm one of these folks. In the last year I've had my truck broken into at the Spring Valley train stop and...get this...my bicycle stolen. On nice days, I like to ride the mile from home to the train stop. Well, I *liked* to. The Richardson stops almost always have glass in at least one spot from a vehicular smash-and-grab the day before. :( Really bad part about my VB&E experience was that I flagged down a DART office but, because I was in the auxiliary parking lot adjoining the main one, I had to wait 1/2 hour for him to figure out whether he or Richardson city policy had jurisdiction! I just wanted a report taken and for my property to be in the same condition I'd left it in a few hours earlier.

That being said...I rarely ride the train unarmed. The times I do I don't like it very much at all.

I know the Parker station is not in the best neighborhood of Plano. I used to drive by it a lot, and I certainly wouldn't want to leave my vehicle there all day. Let's just say it's a "lower income" neighborhood and leave it at that.

I've rode TRE from FTW to Irving since the first day they offered service. I've been broke into on both ends a total of twice and I had one vehicle parked at the station on the Irving end 24/7/365.

Carry away free and clear, depending on time of day very dumb not to.
