NRA Voting Members - Please read

This is the only board I post on, but we need to spread the word beyond this board.

I'd love for the folks at AR15.com to be aware of Mr. Jackson.

I see the 2A as a take it or leave it thing. If you do not support it fully, you do not support it. If you support any restrictions, you do not support it. You must support freedom fully or you are not supporting freedom.

Which, if I'm not mistaken, takes the NRA out of the mix, because they seem to be content with not allowing felons and mentally ill persons to carry guns. None of which is specified in the 2nd amendment. I'm just saying this rhetorically, because there always have to be some limitations/restrictions.... right?

I just voted for 25 candidates....none of which were Mr. Jackson. His views are totally unacceptable.

I have always had a problem with the NRA not fully supporting the 2A. They are not as willing to take the hard stand I want them too, even as a long range goal. Obviously, I strongly support the current process of taking our gun rights back by small steps each year. This is just workable political tactics. But the NRA does not seem to haev the long term goal I do. Of course, they may have it in the backs of their minds and not ever voice it or put it in writing. I could understand that since it might be much too politically dangerous to reveal the end goal. Too many of our political partners are not true 2A supporters but support less restrictions. We need to work with them and if they knew the NRA was coming back to them for more later, we could lose them.

As for the need for any restrictions, that is a separate debate. I think it has been pretty well hashed out here before and none of us will change each other's minds on it. I support repeal of Chapter 46 of the Texas Penal Code and chapter 44 of title 18 of the US Code. I don't expect to ever see either one, but it is my goal.
