Yes sir, that is the one.
Seen it a few times. With all due respect, I dont really consider it a great scene.
I live in the real world & not the fairytails of hippywood.
Needed the title for a personal defense class.

Re: ? for you Movie watchers.
Actually the Tom Cruise character who asks for the briefcase and then shoots the two guys is not the "hero" of the film. He is the antagonist (hired killer) of the film who basically kidnaps Jamie Foxx's character (a cab driver). Foxx's cabbie is the everyman caught up in the story who becomes the protagonist.longtooth wrote:I dont watch TV or go to the movie so I dont know.

It's actually quite a good movie, well-written plot and good acting. Very suspenseful. One of the few movies in his entire career where Tom Cruise has ventured out of his typical character-actor routine of playing the young cocky hero. Here he is older, still cocky, and very very bad.

Yep, Tom Cruise played a very good bad guy in this movie, one of my favorites!
Kevin Costner usually plays good guys, as well. Until "3000 Miles To Graceland." Costner played a very good bad guy on this movie!

FYI: imdb stands for Internet Movie DataBase. You can search this site
for all kinds of movie data, as well as actors/actresses, etc.
The above link is to a little-known Kevin Costner movie
which debuted in November 1993. It's entitled "A Perfect
World". I don't think it made any money but I was riveted
by his performance.
The movie takes place in Texas, circa November 1963.
Costner is an unstable prison escapee on the run with
another prisoner. They kidnap a young boy during a crime
spree.
You are on the edge of the seat as you watch Costner's
character veer from killer to confused adult with issues
along the lines of the father/son relationship. You don't
know if he's going to kill the boy, or just try to be a father
figure to the fatherless boy, but with strange behavior.
I believe I mapped out all the Texas towns mentioned in
the movie and some of the locations didn't quite match up
with what you could drive in a certain timeframe.

"A Perfect World" is a very good movie as I remember - haven't seen it in ages. Need to go find a copy and watch it again. Clint Eastwood does well in it too.surprise_i'm_armed wrote:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107808

Also, since you mentioned http://www.imdb.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I simply MUST mention http://www.imfdb.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Internet Movie Firearm Database .... a fun little site that has ended lots of arguments
For instance:
All the guns used in the movie "Collateral" (my favorite being the ridiculously long silencer on the Ruger .22 pistol ... http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Collateral" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And one of my favorite Hollywood guns, S&W 4506, http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Smith_%2 ... levision_2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
... used by three different Hollywood cops:
- Det. Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) in the "Miami Vice" TV series
- Det. Vic Mackey (Michael Chiklis) in "The Shield" TV series
- Det. Alonso Harris (Denzel Washington) in "Training Day" the movie in which Denzel won his Oscar
