I recently purchased a S&W M&P 15-22 (http://www.americanrifleman.org/Article ... 1743&cid=6). On my first trip to the range, I started off shooting at 25 yards with the iron sights. I was using Red's standard issue targets - 5 sets of concentric rings - one large in the middle and 4 smaller ones (one on each corner). When I moved the target out to 50 yards, I couldn't even see the 5 separate targets. I wear progressive lenses that are due for an update, and at 55, my eyes just aren't what they used to be.
I'm looking for recommendations for inexpensive optics for this gun. Remember, its a 22, I'm not going to be shooting far. Mostly targets and perhaps some varmints.

Is it a flat top? I think all of the M&P's are IIRC.
Probably grab a cheap 3 x 9 adjustable scope. You can also go the ACOG knock-off route if you like. There are tons of "replica's" of tac optics with magnification. Also check into a fake aimpoint or eotech with a magnifier.
