My body did the right thing

Post by Embalmo »

Guys,

I just dropped my UC9 chambered and cocked (I bought the gun because of its light SA trigger) and I was very happy to discover that my body would instinctively react properly, at least this time. While seated at my desk, I inserted the magazine, pointed the gun to the floor, pulled the slide back, and as I was about to decock, for some reason, the gun bobbled. The moment I discovered that I had no control, my hands flew up in a "stick 'em up" position while I watched it bounce 3 times on the carpet in slow motion.

This is my first drop and I've always worried that I would grab at the gun to try to catch it. God is good.

Glad you are OK.

For your next trick: Care to replicate this on concrete rather than carpet?

I had something happen with a slippery floor and a KaBar knife just back from the Sharpener, I didnt grab it, but it stuck a half inch into my floor

Okay, speaking of DROPPING GUNS and DROPPING KNIVES...

THIS is something you DEFINITELY don't want to try and catch on the way down:

I found this pic yesterday while just browsing the web. PLEASE, somebody tell me what useful function this would serve in the real world. Sure, a knife/bayonet can come in handy in certain circumstances; but, c'mon!

I'd most likely just have disastrous results as I tried to holster in my smart carry.

Well, if you like your steaks 'extra' rare and mooing, you may just be able to kill two birds with one stone. ;-)

Ouch, That wouldn't be good. I think it's there just because they can sell them.

I've got a friend that has an .22 assault rifle (I don't know rifles) and it has every accessory you can imagine and a few you cannot. Every time he gets something new for it, he shows it to me. That weapon has never been fired by anyone. I'm guessing that this is the demographic they are selling to.

I assume its a 10/22 hardly an Assault Rifle.
We gotta stop using the word "Assault Rifle"
Semi Automatic Rifles that are not Selective fire (Think Full Auto, 3 Round Burst) are not Assault Rifles.

But yeah they sell alot of stuff thats almost beyond useless for rifles and guns

Fine-pretend machine gun. I don't like rifles-they don't fit in my pocket, and they make shooting clay targets almost impossible.

Sorry if you think this was taken as an attack on you.

I hardly think anyone with a semi automatic Rifle pretends its a machine gun.

Best term I've seen on this forum is "Sport Utility Rifle."

Me think attack?-of course not!! I'm just attempting to be silly. I really don't see myself ever becoming a rifle person though, 'cause this dog don't hunt; you don't have to dress, process, and eat clay pidgeons, or paper targets. I disagree-I think my friend that has that .22 that looks like a military rifle sees it as a pretend/toy machine gun because he's never shot it, he just like to show off how menancing it looks. :biggrinjester:
