Sig P229 Equinox

Post by Scott in Houston »

I'm interested in getting one of these. I currently only own Glock, but this gun appeals to me.

I figure I'll buy at a Gun Show since that seems to be the best price I've found on the Glocks.

What is a good price for a 229 Equinox at a Gun Show in Houston?

You'll love the sights on the Equanox, I have a P229 SCT in .40 and other than needing a trigger job (I'm used to a kimber with a 3.5lb breaks-like-glass trigger) its awesome. I was planning on buying the Equanox, but was iffy about the size of the grips, and I ended up finding a really good deal on the SCT.

Thanks for all the confirmation that I'm looking at the right gun. :cheers2:

In some shops, this gun is ~$1,000. I'm hoping I can get around $750-$799 at a gun show, but I may be way off.

Quite frankly I am amazed you found a gun shop that would sell you an Equinox for 1000 dollars. That is giving one of those away. If I found them for 799, I would buy 5 of them and sell them on Gun broker... LOL. I am willing to bet big that you won't find an 229 Equinox for 799 anywhere. especially not a gun show. Grab the one for a Grand. that is a Sig Custom shop piece and a real nice one at that!

I have one of the 226 PM Equinox-9mm. They are as rare as hens teeth. Sig made a limited quantity of them and then cut them off. It isn't officially mine anymore...I gave it up in a trade. Part of me is thinking I shouldn't have turned it loose as it is going to do nothing but increase in value. It is funny cause when it first came out it was 100 bucks cheaper than the Equinox. I guess you can figure out that I like this particular model...LOL.

Oh my... here is a 229 Equinox on GB for 975 buy it now. You will need to add 30 bucks shipping and an FFL fee, but that is right where you spoke of a gun shop pricing it. No tax if you buy from GB.
