.30-06 question
What do you like best 150 gr, 165 gr, or 180 gr? I like the 165 myself.

Just to make sure: For light game hunting, or service rifle matches, or what purpose?

I stocked up on 165Gr remington Core-Lokt was on special for $15/20-rd box. I shoot it to sight in my scope and for target shooting too. I am sure the165gr is more than enough for any deer. You can take even Elk with it too.

Re: .30-06 question
I only load 180s when I'm using my old M70 to hunt with - either Nosler's Ballistic Tips or Partitions.
Paper punching or offhand practice? Whatever bullets are cheap.
M1 Garands, either USGI or HXP milsurp, or equivalent handloads. (Port pressure is a concern - I don't use the aforementioned 180s in my M1s.)
